Alloys are mixtures that involve at least one metal and metallic bonding. Steel is an alloy of iron and carbon that is stronger than iron. Stainless steel is steel that contains chromium and is also rustproof.

Steel is used to build skyscrapers, stadiums, bridges, spacecraft, airplanes, ships, cars, refrigerators, washing machines, cookware, cutlery and surgical tools.
