Relativistic Length Contractions Can Only Occur With Respect To Velocity Directions

Imagine if relativistic length contractions occurred with respect to more than velocity directions and  consider green and red rings stationary and equal sized relative to the Earth:

Now consider the process of moving the green ring towards the red ring relative to the Earth:

Now consider the same process relative to the green ring:

It would not be the same basic process relative to different inertial reference frames which is impossible.  A similar argument shows that length increases with respect to more than velocity directions are also impossible.
