Batteries

Batteries are composed of electrodes in contact with electrolytes.  Household batteries typically have zinc and manganese dioxide electrodes.   They also typically have ammonium chloride, zinc chloride and potassium hydroxide electrolytes.

Car batteries typically have lead and lead dioxide electrodes.  They also typically have sulfuric acid electrolyte.
